Portrait commission process

I begin with a conversation with the client about what type of portrait they’re interested in. The client can provide photos, or if necessary, I will travel to photograph the subject(s) of the portrait. We then agree on which pose and lighting is best suited as the main source photo. At this point, I give the client a time frame in which the painting will be completed, allowing for drying, varnishing, and shipping.

The painting is shipped only after final approval is given by the client. Digital photos are sent during the process for client feedback on the likeness, colors, etc., if desired.  I never consider a painting complete until the client does.
